Adrift February-April Session - Hiatus Break!

(Disclaimer: The game is not available yet. Demos have been published [Windows, Web]. )

Adrift Program Art

April, huh? ... woops. May or may have not postponed this post a piiixel too much.
But other than that - PROGRESS! Isn't that exciting!

For starters, Adrift Program now has two publicly available demos!: A web demo, and a downloadable demo.
 That's very exciting by itself..!
The demos include the nearly-fully-featured game, loaded with 4 levels out of 8 levels.
(Do know, that the web demo's audio engine, FMod, doesn't run perfectly - it is advised to play the standalone demo.)

And moving on, the state of the project.

It's safe to say that over 99% of the project is complete!

The art is all complete, as well as the music.
A few SFX are due.
And lastly, a bug or two, a bit of balancing and testing, possibly a single feature, and it's done!

If I had to re-estimate the game's release, I'd go with July 2023 - But all is due to change: For the better, for the worse.

We all had all kinds of situations in life, like jobs and apartments (Aye!), but I'm more than willing to see the finish line.
Thus, our months of silence.

And next up, here's what had changed! And oh boy, did stuff change.
Since September 2022 (the latest blog's date), we've added all of these!:

  • Finished a mega cool final level,
  • Pixeled all of the art; spritework and animations, and URP 2D lights!,
  • Polished and smoothened the music by NoStereo (and added a bit by me, even!)
  • Made some well-needed balancing changes to the scoring system,
  • Added many quality of life changes (like changing the machine shaking and flashing),
  • And fixed loaaads of bugs and issues!

And the most important change: The cooler is now working! You may drink water, if you will.

Bob takes water cup from cooler

Eco-friendly water cup!

 Finally... check this out:

Something tiny. A simple, little behind-the-scenes devlog.
I will merely talk about the alien meat. But, it'll look pretty cool, if I do say so myself!

And after than, fingers crossed... a trailer, and a beta release.

All of these will be announced in the official YouTube, Twitter and itch.io pages of Adrift Program.

On this note... Stay tuned.
